Former Senate President, Senator Adolphus Wabara, has expressed sorrow over the death of Pa Edwin Clark, the Niger Delta leader and former Federal Commissioner for Information.

In a condolence message to Clark’s family, Wabara said the elder statesman’s exit had left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s history.

“It is with deep sorrow that I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Pa Edwin Clark—a father, mentor, and true statesman—whose unwavering commitment to justice, equity, and national unity left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s history,” Wabara wrote.

He described Pa Clark as a beacon of wisdom and courage, whose dedication to the Niger Delta cause, advocacy for good governance, and lifelong service to the nation reflected his belief in a better Nigeria.

“His voice was loud, and his presence commanded respect across generations. His departure is a profound loss—not just to his family—but to all who were privileged to know and learn from him,” he added.

Wabara urged the Clark family to uphold the legacies of the late leader, emphasizing that his integrity, resilience, and patriotism would continue to inspire future generations.

He prayed for God’s comfort for the bereaved family and the eternal repose of Pa Clark’s soul.

Pa Edwin Clark died on Monday at the age of 97.
