Olu of Warri welcome ideas aim at transforming Warri Kingdom

The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, said he would always welcome ideas from sons and daughters of the kingdom to fast track the speedy growth and development Warri Kingdom.

The monarch made the commitment at a Women Empowerment town Hall meeting at the Palace (Aghofen) in Warri at the weekend with the title:”The Role of Women in Community Development”

According to him, the kingdom will continue to recognize and honour any Itsekiri son or daughter who distinguishes himself or herself in the kingdom as he had earlier said years ago during his coronation.

He charged all persons especially of Itseriki Kingdom to come forth with ideas that would move the kingdom forward saying, such a person would be recognised accordingly.

The Royal Father said God is interested in Itsekiri and Warri Kingdom. He said:” Our minds, Our attitude must be open for people to partner with to build our kingdom”

He welcomed Senator Fanny, an illustrious daughter of the kingdom and urged her to continue to contribute her quota for the growth of Warri Kingdom.

Earlier in her speech, Senator Fanny expressed gratitude for the Monarch for the award. She said, she left the Kingdom 59 years ago saying that by the grace of God, she has been able to visit the kingdom again.

She promised to do her best to contribute her her quota to the growth of the kingdom just as she has done to Ivory Coast and other parts of the world.

According to her, among other things, she would establish bilingual primary school in Warri Kingdom just as she promised to carry Her Royal Majesty Olori along in her all doings.

She charged women to be role models and do whatever within their power to take care of their family and be in position of leadership as she has found herself in political sphere.

On her part, Her Royal Majesty Olori Ogiame Atuwatse III, the wife of Olu of Warri expressed gratitude to the Senator and her entirely family including the mother of the Senator for the visit.

Her Majesty Olori Ogiame Atuwatse III said the visit of the Senator was symbolic.

According to her, just as the Senator has been connected to her ancestral home, so also, other Itsekiris in the world would be connected home to contribute their quota to the development of Warri kingdom.

Her Royal Majesty Olori Ogiame Atuwatse III also spoke on the need for women to take their place in leadership position and take care of their homes.

The climax of the programme was the presentation of award to the Senator just as Senator’s gifts were presented to the Monarch amidst cheers.
