The Anglican Bishop of Nsukka, Enugu State, Rt. Rev. Aloysius Ezeagbo, has described his encounter with Mr. Peter Obi as an act of divine providence, facilitated by the Catholic Bishop of Nsukka, Most Rev. Dr. Godfrey Onah.
Bishop Ezeagbo shared this reflection during Mr. Obi’s visit to Faith Nursing College, Nsukka, on Thursday, where Obi made an additional donation of ₦20 million to support the institution’s infrastructure development.
The bishop recounted how Bishop Onah had first mentioned the nursing school project to Mr. Obi during a wedding in Enugu. Moved by the initiative and its potential impact on healthcare education, Mr. Obi pledged his support. Since that encounter, he has remained committed to ensuring the institution receives the assistance needed to flourish.
Expressing profound gratitude, Bishop Ezeagbo recalled that Obi’s initial ₦20 million donation came at a critical time when the project faced severe financial challenges. The latest contribution, arriving at yet another crucial moment, will further propel the college’s academic and infrastructural development.
Describing Obi as a courageous and exceptional leader with a rare passion for education, the bishop commended his unwavering efforts to uplift educational institutions across Nigeria. He emphasized that Obi’s contributions go beyond simple acts of charity, reflecting a deep belief in the transformative power of education.
“With this renewed support,” the bishop noted, “Faith Nursing College is better positioned to equip future healthcare professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to serve society effectively.”
In his remarks, Mr. Obi lauded Bishop Ezeagbo’s vision and dedication to improving access to quality education in the region. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance learning opportunities, particularly in vital sectors such as healthcare training.
