As 2024 comes to a close, Google revealed the results of its 2024 Year in Search on Tuesday, highlighting the most searched news, people, song lyrics, musicians, movies, questions, and more that captured the attention of Nigerians throughout the year.

Google’s ‘Year in Search’ is an annual analysis that reveals the top trending lists and also spotlights what the world searches to see, learn, and do.

In a year marked by legal battles, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, topped the list of most searched Nigerian personalities, largely due to his involvement in naira mutilation controversy. He was followed by Betta Edu, Shallipopi, and Khaid in the top 5.

Among the most frequently asked questions in 2024 were, “How much is the dollar to naira today?”, “How to get perfectly defined curls for African hair?”, and “Who won the US presidential election?”.
