The Ministry of Works has requested National Assembly approval to allocate N1.065 trillion for capital projects in its 2025 budget, representing 99% of its total budget of N1.072 trillion for the fiscal year.

This proposal, presented by President Bola Tinubu last week, includes:

N5.635 billion for personnel costs.

N1.857 billion for overheads.

N1.560 billion for research and development.

N1.136 billion for monitoring and evaluation of federal projects as part of a N3.6 billion provision for non-tangible assets.

N910 million for computer software for architects and engineers.

The ministry has allocated N764.9 billion for constructing public schools and roads nationwide and an additional N240 million for new public schools in selected areas.

Repairs of public schools and roads will cost N292.2 billion, while N40.6 billion has been set aside for infrastructure development.
