Glitz, glamour, as BON Awards 2024 ignites Ilorin

The much-anticipated Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards 2024 came to a thrilling conclusion on Sunday, at the prestigious Sugar Factory Film Studios in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The night was filled with glitz, glamour, and outstanding performances, as the Nigerian film industry celebrated its finest talents.

Nollywood sensation Femi Adebayo’s historical epic, Jagun Jagun emerged the undisputed champion of the night, clinching an impressive six awards across various categories. This includes the coveted Best Actor award for Adebayo’s powerful portrayal of the titular character.

Other notable winners of the night include; ‘Unknown Soja’ which secured the Best Actress award for Wunmi Dada and the Best Child Actress award for Darasimi Nadi, ‘Momiwa’ was honored for Best Screenplay and Best Editing and legendary actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo received a well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Kwara State Governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman.

Governor AbdulRahman expressed his commitment to fostering the growth of the Nigerian film industry, highlighting Kwara State’s potential as a thriving filmmaking hub. He revealed plans to host the production of two major films at the Sugar Factory Film Studios in the coming year.

The BON Awards, founded by Seun Oloketuyi, continues to recognize and celebrate the exceptional contributions of filmmakers and industry professionals. The 2024 edition showcased the remarkable talent and creativity within the Nigerian film industry, leaving a lasting impact on the global stage.
