There is relative calm in the ancient city of Kano as youths in the state have chosen to shun the protest.
While some shops were closed, a few people and vehicles could still be seen on the roads. This reluctance to participate is likely connected to concerns about unforeseen circumstances and the negative experiences stemming from the August 1 protest.
Security personnel were observed stationed at strategic locations throughout the state to maintain order.
Shops were shut as at the time of filling this report.
