The Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central senatorial district, yesterday hosted the Nigeria chapter of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) at her Abuja residence.
The FIDA team was led to the meeting by its Country National President, Amina Suzanah Agbaje.
According to both parties, the meeting was aimed at exploring collaborative opportunities as well as strengthen alliances to advance the rights of vulnerable women and children in Nigeria.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, a vocal advocate for women’s rights and social justice, reiterated her commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering women in Nigeria.
She said, “This partnership with FIDA Nigeria is crucial in our collective quest to protect and promote the rights of women and children.”
Highlights of the discussion included: Women’s participation in politics, gender-based violence, and economic empowerment for women.
FIDA Nigeria’s President, Amina Suzanah Agbaje, lauded Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s dedication to women’s rights, saying, “We are grateful for her tireless efforts and look forward to working together to create a more just society.”
