In the competitive world of Nigerian music industry, a new name is making waves: Alexander OLAOLUWA Salami known by his stage name O.L.A which means (Over Living All ).
This rising star, popular for his infectious rhythms, soulful melodies, and socially conscious lyrics, is quickly gaining a dedicated following both domestically and internationally.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, to Nigerian parents, O.L.A spent his formative years in Ibadan, Nigeria. His exposure to diverse cultures and musical influences from a young age undoubtedly shaped his unique sound.
After completing his studies in Music Production at the Metal Works Institute in Canada, O.L.A embarked on a journey to establish himself as an independent artist.
A pivotal moment in O.L.A’s career came when he met the renowned Nigerian singer Davido. This encounter not only inspired him but also provided valuable guidance as he navigated the complexities of the music industry. With Davido’s support, O.L.A began to hone his craft and develop his distinctive style.
O.L.A’s debut single, “Reverse” featuring Jinmi Abduls, released in 2016, marked the beginning of his professional music journey. Since then, he has consistently delivered hit songs, including collaborations with prominent artists like Mayorkun and Costa Titch.
His EP, “Vibes Vol 1,” showcases his versatility and ability to create music that resonates with a wide audience.
He is also known for hit tracks like; Alkyda (2017), Yawa (2019), Get the bag (2019)
Summertime Bop (2020), Vibes (2020), Man wey sabi (2020), Shade (2021), My spec (2022), Data (2023), Lie to you (2023), Holy Maria (2023) and Holy Maria remix (2024).
O.L.A’s music is a fusion of Nigerian and American influences, blending Afrobeat rhythms with contemporary sounds.
His lyrics often address social issues and personal experiences, making his songs both relatable and thought-provoking.
