National Watch holds security summit in Lagos

The National Watch has announced the organization of a special summit on security and safety scheme/award ceremony, themed “National Security: Appraisal, Assessment of Security Efforts, Interventions, Challenges, Achievements, and Way Forward, 2024 under review”.

According to a statement issued by the Chairperson, Special Project for the National Watch, Oyekunle Oluwakemi-Jibromah,
the summit aims to bring together top security officials, stakeholders, and experts to discuss and proffer solutions to the security challenges facing the nation.

The event, scheduled to hold on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, will have Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the Special Guest of Honour.

Expected security czars include the Assitant Insoector General of Police Zone 2, AIG Adegoke Fayoade, General Officer Commanding 81 Division, Nigerian Army, Lagos; Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Apapa, Lagos; Air Officer Commanding Headquarters Logistics Command, Nigerian Air Force Base, Ikeja, Lagos; Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Zone A, Ikeja; among others.

The statement also mentioned discussants for the event as : AIG Olatoye Durosinmi (Rtd); Executive Secretary/CEO, Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Dr. Abdulrrasaq Balogun; Founder, Rosula Foundation, Princess Dr Mrs Osuls Mku-Atu.

The statement read: ” The summit will also feature an award ceremony to recognize and reward outstanding security personnel and stakeholders, including the Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, and Founder, Sahara Group Foundation.

“Interventionist agencies and individuals who have assisted the police and sister agencies in the area of logistics and support, such as Shell, Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Rosula Foundation, Cowry Asset, Presiding Pastor, Synagogue Church of All Nations, Pastor Evelyn Joshua and Founder Love of Christ Generation Church (C&S) World Wide, Rev Mother Esther Abimbola Àjayi, will also be honoured .

“Additionally, security heads are expected to give security briefs, and participants will have the opportunity to interrogate and engage them in their presentations. Civilians will also speak on the interventions made on behalf of the police and other sister security agencies.

“Outstanding Divisional.Police Officers across 14 Area Commands will be honored, and the most outstanding Area Commander in Lagos State Command will also be recognized”.
