Kaduna Govt seeks continued ties with Save the Children

The Kaduna State Government has expressed that it would continue to collaborate with partners like Save the Children International, insisting that no one can compete well in this globalized world without education.

The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe in company of Commissioner Human Services Hajia Rabi Salisu , Commissioner of Health Umma k. Ahmed, spoke when she received in audience the Country Director of Save the Children International, Mr. Duncan Harvey, at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House Kaduna.

The Deputy Governor further stated that Kaduna State looks beyond taking children to school, to increased school enrollment and better completion rates.

She said that the Human Capital Development program of Kaduna State is on course and government is doing all in its power to build a solid foundation in the area, and  expressed the pleasure of the state government in continued collaboration with partners like Save the Children.

Earlier, the Country Director of Save the Children, told the Deputy Governor that he was in her office to intimate her of the activities of the organization in the state.

Meanwhile,the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, represented the Governor, His Excellency, Sen. Uba Sani as the Special Guest at the 34th combined convocation ceremony for officer cadets of the 71 regular course and post graduate students which held at NDA Afaka – Kaduna State.

The Deputy Governor was accompanied by Hon. Commissioner Human services Hajia Rabi Salisu and top government officials.

The Special Guest of Honor at the event, His Excellency, Sen. Kashim Shettima, Vice President was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Defence, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana.

Other  dignatories at the occasion included the Chief of Defence Staff, General CG Musa. who represented the Minister of Defence, and Service Chiefs, the Commandant of the Nigerian Defense Academy and other principal officers of the Academy.

The convocation ceremony witnessed the award of certificates and prizes to cadets who excelled in academics out of the 450 who graduated.
