Day 3 protests: 110 protesters arrested so far in Sokoto – Police

In continuation of clampdown on hunger protesters, police in Sokoto has said that 28 additional protesters were arrested by the command on Friday.

The public relations officer of  the Sokoto state police command Assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Ahmed Rufae disclosed this while given update to journalists in a statement made available on Saturday.

He said the miscreants were apprehended by the police at various locations in the state capital while trying to attack public utilities in the state metropolis.

According to the statement, the arrest of the 28 on Friday put the figure of the total arrest at 110 so far.

All those arrested in connection with the protest vandalization of public infrastructures during the hunger protest would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded. ” says the statement.
