Indefinite suspension: Group accuse Imo lawmakers of mutiny against Governor Uzodimma

A foremost non-governmental organisation Ahiazu Patriotic Front (APF) has responded to the recent suspension of four members of the Imo State House of Assembly over an impeachment plot against the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Chike Olemgbe.

Responding to the development after their quarterly meeting Umuevu in Okirinweke ward, the interim Secretary of APF, Comrade Emmanuel Diala described the actions of the suspended lawmakers as mutiny against the able and performing Governor of Imo State Senator Hope Uzodimma.

He revealed that the erring lawmakers would have proceeded to impeach the Governor after impeaching the Speaker. He described the plot as unpatriotic and called for the investigation team to do a thorough job.

Responding to the development, the coordinator of APF in Okirikanweke ward, Mr. Henry Anyanwu described the lawmakers involved as men of questionable character and saboteurs.

”Many of the voters from Ahiazu Mbaise have complained to the media about how one of the lawmakers diverted palliatives meant for the poor in his constituency.

”Many of the materials are still under lock and key in a warehouse in Amuzi/Ihenworie ward allegedly belonging to the said lawmaker. The matter is still being investigated by the APC leadership in the state,” he stated.

Mr. Anyanwu confirmed that APF has set in motion a recall process and has resumed the collection of signatures for the recall process against one of the lawmakers, Hon. Samuel Otibe.

He said many leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) across the state are worried by the efforts of some disgruntled and greedy politicians who are working to sabotage the efforts of the Uzodimma-led administration.
