Paul Emmanuel may be widely known as a popular preacher of the gospel, but last Sunday, he turned a writer and a singer, when he unveiled seven inspirational books as well as a musical album in one day.
The event, which took place at the Four Point Hotel by Sheraton, Victoria Island, Lagos, was a milestone for Paul Emmanuel, who’s the senior pastor at Refiners Embassy, Lagos.as well as the Overseer of a non-denominational ministry called The Round Networks.
In a chat with our reporter, elated Paul Emmanuel said though he started writing while he was in secondary school, the time wasn’t right then for him to go into publishing.
His words: “I just figured that time has to be right. I believe that if the books come out in their right season, they will have an impact on the readers.
“I was not just writing for the sake of writing sake. I knew that the titles for the books will be needed at this particular period that we are in, both in Nigeria and the world at large.”
According to him, the seven inspirational books, including ‘The Saint of Water’, Tale of the Dragon, Dressing for Destiny, Transformation, The Journey among others centre on the destinies of people and their ability to navigate the challenges that life throws at them.
On his debut album titled, ‘The Other Side’ Paul Emmanuel said he has been working on the album, which has 12 tracks in all since 2019.
Narrating how he delved into singing, Paul Emmanuel recalled an open vision, which he had, where he saw a certain gospel singer who was moving from one direction to another. And he was also moving from one side to the other.
“So, we met at some point and he gave me a baton like somebody running a relay race and I also gave him the one I had. He moved to where I was coming from and I moved to where he was coming from. So I got to understand that from 2019, we were going to start seeing people who are pastors becoming singers and people who are singers becoming pastors.
“The name of the artist is Sonny Baddo, a Ghanaian gospel singer based in America. Today, he’s a preacher , he has his own church now. That’s how I started singing,” he narrated.
