The Managing Director of Cadbury Nigeria, Mrs Oyeyimika Adeboye, has explained that despite the state of the economy, resonating with struggling youths was the major reason for selecting Afropop star Adefamola Adefolahan, also known as Fireboy DML, and Cavemen duo Kingsley Okorie and Benjamin James as TomTom brand ambassadors.

Adeboye, while narrating the challenges this generation is going through to newsmen in Lagos, insisted that music is one of the tools you can use to reach out to them.

She said, “At the time we were looking for how we could connect with those we were targeting, we searched for people who could motivate, encourage, and give the message of breathing for it; this was why Fireboy and Cavemen came onboard.

“We are aware this generation has a lot on its neck and lots on its mind, but having Fireboy and Cavemen as our ambassadors would help resonate with this generation by showcasing that there’s room to relax and enjoy despite what we are all going through.”

Responding, one of the Highlife duo, Kingsley Okorie, said, “The onus is on us to make our fans resonate with the brand through our performance”.

On his part, Fireboy, while appreciating Cadbury for choosing him despite other top artists, said, “It is always a thing of joy to be recognized by what you do. I am grateful for recognizing my contribution to my generation through music.”
