Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, said President Bola Tinubu’s dream is correctional facilities that will aid reformation and transformation of the inmates, not condemnation.

The Minister stated this on Thursday while on an assessment tour at the Janguza Correctional Centre in Kano.

He expressed the commitment of the President towards upgrading and transforming the correctional facilities across the country, in line with the renewed hope agenda.

According to him, “It is about the dream of Mr. President. It is about creating a correctional system that is really reformative, transformational in nature, and one that is not condemnative or destructive in nature but where people come and learn so that when they go out, they become better human beings.

“And where the lives of people will actually be transformed in national interest and where the rate of restiveness will almost be close to zero, and where obviously the national security architecture can be better enhanced, that’s what we want,” the Minister, Tunji-Ojo, however, stated.
