Deputy Governorship Candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in the March 18 gubernatorial elections in Delta State, Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi today launched a fifty million naira SME support scheme for small business owners.

Making the announcement during a breakfast meeting with some members of his political family at his Asaba residence, Osanebi said the gesture was motivated by the current state of the economy.

According to Osanebi, it’s his desire to affect as much life as possible in this difficult time hence he has continued to reach out to his people at regular intervals.

In his separate comments, Principal Secretary to Osanebi and Coordinator of the scheme, Idi Presley said the target of the scheme is to empower women and youths with Small and Medium Enterprises.

Presley stated that thirty four million naira (34,000,000) was paid out today to the first set of beneficiaries with the next set to follow in a fortnight.

In a similar development, Osanebi today gifted four of his supporters brand new cars to appreciate their steadfastness over the years.

The cars- a Toyota Sienna, a Toyota Corolla, a Toyota Camry and a Toyota Matrix, were presented amongst jubilation to the recipients whom were all stunned by the surprise gesture.

In their response, the beneficiaries who couldn’t hide their excitement showered praises and encomiums on Osanebi, describing him as an uncommon leader with the people’s interest at heart.

Despite not holding any political office, in the first six months of the year, Osanebi has released fifty million naira for women empowerment and JAMB enrollment, with this SME support scheme bringing it to a total of one hundred million naira.
