Omobayo promises Muslims active participation in governance

Omobayo Godwins, Edo State’s Deputy Governor

Edo State Deputy Governor, Engr Marvellous Omobayo, has assured the Muslim community in the State of inclusion and active participation in leadership roles, if Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie emerge winners of the upcoming September 21 governorship election.

The Deputy Governor gave the assurance, weekend, in an enlarged meeting with the leadership of the League of lmams and Alfas in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area.

Omobayo noted that qualified Muslims had been previously assigned leadership roles in the Obaseki-led administration, while assuring them of equal opportunity if PDP emerged victorious at the polls.

In his address, Chairman of the League, Alhaji Ibrahim Usman, declared total support of the group for PDP and its flagbearer.

Usman commended Governor Godwin Obaseki for his developmental strides in the past seven years.

He promised to mobilize all Muslims in the Council Area to vote PDP and consolidate the achievements of the present administration.

The event took place at the Igarra Central Mosque in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area.
