Family lauds Lagos Attorney General for intervention in Otara land matter

By Adesina Wahab

The family of Adesada Oganiugbe of Otunba Quarters, Igbooye, has expressed appreciation to the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Lagos State and Office of Lagos State Special Taskforce on Land Grabber for making their presence felt at Otara land in Igbooye, Eredo LCDA, Epe Division, Lagos State.

The family is also demanding protection of its members due to threat to life made by the boys working for some notorious land grabbers in the area.

The Scribe of Adesada Oganiugbe family, Mr. Idris Adebanjo Salami, made the commendation in a statement issued on behalf of the family.

He commended the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Lagos State and Office of Lagos State Special Taskforce on Land Grabber for acting on the petition dated September 20, 2023 written by him to report the activities of some people involved in land grabbing and who are threatening people’s lives.

While the land grabbers refused to honour several invitations sent to them by the Office of Lagos State Special Taskforce on Land Grabber, the office therefore came to erect signposts on the land and marked the gate house done by a company on the land in contention.

The erection of the signposts and marking of the gate house were done on Friday, June 07, 2024. It was gathered that some boys stationed on the land challenged the officers and threatened them but the erection of the signposts was done with the support of the Mobile Police officers attached to the team.

It was also gathered that the team met with the DPO of Noforija Divisional Police Headquarters who directed his men to acknowledge their letter and informed them that he was aware of the matter.

The head of Adesada Oganjugbe Family, Mr. Oluwatosin Emmanuel Adewunmi, also appreciated the office of Lagos State Special Taskforce on Land Grabber through phone conversation with the head of the team.

Thia is just as the Human Rights Monitoring Agenda has appealed to the Attorney General and office of Lagos State Special Taskforce on Land Grabber to be decisive on the matter and handle it diligently with dispatch in order to eradicate the menace of land grabbing in the area as the boys are threatening members of Adesada Oganjugbe family, particularly, the Secretary, Mr. Idris Adebanjo Salami and Mr. Rasaki Idowu Sikiru who were present during the erection of the signposts.
