Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets defeated hosts Ghana 3-2 in a thrilling third-place match to clinch bronze at the WAFU B U-17 Championship.
The match saw an early lead for the Golden Eaglets when Imrana Muhammad found the net in the ninth minute. Ghana’s Black Starlets quickly responded, with Harve Gbafa equalizing just ten minutes later.
Gbafa capitalized on a defensive error by Nigeria to score his second goal three minutes before the half-hour mark, putting Ghana ahead.

Nigeria fought back, leveling the score four minutes before halftime with a brilliant attacking play. Abdulmuiz Adeleke headed in a precise cross from John Ogwuche, bringing the score to 2-2.
The game remained deadlocked until stoppage time when Adeleke emerged as the hero, firing home the winning goal two minutes into added time.
The Nigerian forward ended the competition with four goals to his credit.
