Amid controversies that trailed the Kano Emirate, the Bichi Emirate council on Tuesday said they strongly oppose the dissolution of the five emirates created by the former governor, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje administration.

This was as the council sent a strong warning to the state government and the State Assembly to as a matter of urgency reverse the repealed emirates law and allow the five emirates continue for the good and benefit of the State.

The Secretary of the council, Engr. Bello Gambo (Inuwar Masarautar Bichi) while briefing newsmen in Kano, described the dissolution of the emirates as unacceptable.

Engr. Gambo continued when he said that they will resist the government plans to appoint what they termed as 2nd Class Emirs for them or to send the a District Heads, adding that what they want is their Emir and nothing less.

“We reject in totality any planned appointment of a 2nd Class Emirs for us or rather a District Heads as the case might be. Our Emir should be allow to continue and nothing less. We will not accept anything otherwise,” he said.

The Secretary further stated that during the creation of the five Emirates Council, they were created with a mission to bring rural communities closer to the Government, and overtime they have achieved those functions.

“We are a witnesses today of the fact that apart from stopping Urban/Rural Migration they have ensure that many enjoyed the dividends of democracy in various means and ways, go to Bichi and see how the Emirate Council played a role in turning around the area to a Mega City just like other areas of Gaya, Karaye and Rano.

“With the dissolution of the Emirate, over 3,000 citizens of the area will now loss their jobs and that will give way for serious insecurity,” Engr. Gambo, however stated.
