Volunteers for Good Governance petitions Tinubu over PAP appointment

The Volunteers for Good Governance in the Niger Delta has petitioned President Bola Tinubu over the appointment of the leadership of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

The group urged the President to review appointments into PAP for the sake of equity and justice.

They made their position known in a petition titled “Mr. President, Please Don’t Encourage Illegality in the Niger Delta”, signed by Otaroro Ebisine, Publicity Secretary, Volunteer for Good Governance in Niger Delta.

According to them, “it is very important that we the Volunteers for Good Governance in the Niger Delta express our concerns over the appointment of the current leadership of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, on behalf of all concerned citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“We want the appointment process properly investigated, and if it did not follow due process, it is unfair to the other candidates who sincerely accepted an invitation to be vetted and went through with it.

“Therefore, in order to avoid a spark from becoming a wildfire in the Niger Delta region, we are thus pleading with our dear president to refrain from encouraging illegality and impersonation that might be currently experienced in the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

“Justice and fairness should be considered in this regard through a thorough investigation into this claims.”
