After several speculations about a possible leadership change in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), it has now been confirmed that the item is not on the agenda of the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party holding at 2:00pm.

Recall, Vanguard had reported that loyalists of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, were upbeat about the possibility of Amb. Umar Damagum, continuing in office as Acting National Chairman.

The 52 member national caucus of the party normally take decisions on the agenda to be discussed at NEC.

National Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, confirmed this development while briefing journalists on the outcome of the Caucus meeting of the party which ended in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Ologunagba said, “NEC meeting will not discuss any change in leaders, rather attention is focussed on unity and reconciliation

“Caucus agreed that all congresses in the states and local government should be concluded between June and August this year.

“Caucus agreed on the extension of the constitution review committee of the party to accept new recommendations.”
