Eid-El-Fitr: Alia urges prayers for Benue

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue state has enjoined Muslim Ummah to uphold the lessons of kindness, forgiveness and sacrifice which the month of Ramadan teaches as they celebrate Eid-El-Fitr.

He congratulated Muslim faithful in the State for successfully completing their fast and urged them to always pray for the state.

The Governor in a massage in Makurdi by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, to Muslims as they mark Eid-El-Fitr celebration encouraged them to always uphold the teachings of Ramadan.

The state read: “Governor Alia advises Muslims Ummah to uphold the lessons of kindness, forgiveness and sacrifice which the month of Ramadan teaches and also pray for peace and development of Benue State.

“The Governor identifies insecurity and the unstable economy as major challenges standing against speedy development of Nigeria and the State, calling on Muslims to always remember to put the state at the centre of their prayers.

“He salutes their willingness to undertake their annual transformative spiritual exercise and prayed to God to give them the strength and courage to always follow the dictates of the Ramadan fast and equally spread them to other segments of the society.”
