Benue Gov approves 12km road for Gwer LG community

The Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has approved the construction of over 12km road in Mbandohor kindred of Iger Council Ward of Gwer East Local Government Area, LGA, of the state.

The project would be executed under the Benue State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project BN-RAAMP.

The Benue State RAAMP Project Coordinator, Mr. Stephen Numbeve made this known when he paid an assessment visit to Mbandôhôr community.

He noted that the visit was to enable him “have a first hand information on the propsed road to enable me properly brief the Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia for necessary action.”

He explained that “four bridges and eight culverts would be constructed on the 12.05km road that stretch through Taraku Mills, Kyaa and Aveetse road, when completed.”

Besides, Numbeve also pledged to renovate the Local Government Education Authority, LGEA, Primary School and the Community Health Clinic in Iger community outside the road project.

Earlier, the Kindred Head of Mbandôhôr, Chief Tyôshio Ka’Kaan lauded Governor Alia for the project and also commended the RAAMP Project Coordinator for his timely visit to his domain to carry out the  assessment and for singling out other dilapidated infrastructures in the community for rehabilitation.

Also, the President, Benue State Agricultural Initiative BADI, Mr. Alexander Terkaa urged farmers in the state to form cooperative societies to anable them easily access government interventions to boost their annual yields in order to enhance their livelihoods.

The President General of Mbandôhôr Multipurpose Cooperative Society, Mr. Clement Iorkyaa thanked Governor Alia for remembering the community saying when completed the project would mark the first presence of government in the area since the return of democratic governance.
