…vows to deploy experience to fight crime

Former Benue Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Emmanuel Adesina has assumed duty as the Commissioner of Police in charge of the state with a pledge to use his wealth of experience to fight crime and criminality.
Mr. Adesina who served as the Command’s PPRO in 1997 took over from Mr. George Chuku the immediate past Commissioner.
According to a statement by the Command’s PPRO, Superintendent, SP, Catherine Anene, the new Police Commissioner also served the Command as Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP, in charge of Operations and Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, in charge of Operations.
The PPRO in the statement informed that “he was promoted to the rank of a Commissioner of Police on January 31, 2024 and posted to Benue state as the 41st Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command.
“The detribalised and dutiful police officer has pledged his commitment to use his wealth of experience to fight crime and ensure safety of lives and property in the state.
“He also called on the good people of Benue state to support the police with useful and timely information.”
Mr. Adesina who hails from Boluwaduro Local Government Area, LGA, of Osun state, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos and a Masters degree in criminology from the University of Ibadan.
He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Academy as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on May 18, 1992.
