2024 MOBO Awards: Asake wins Best African Act ahead of Tyla, Davido [Full list]

Nigerian music sensation, Asake has won the Best African act at the 2024 MOBO awards.

The ‘Lonely at the top’ crooner won the gong ahead of superstars including Adekunle Gold, Davido, Rema, Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Rema.

Also in the category were South African Tyla, Cameroonian-American Libianca, and eSwatini artist Uncle Waffles.

Asake was not the only Nigerian to win at the 2024 MOBO Awards; Afro-gospel singer Limoblaze won best gospel artist.

Asake and Limoblaze now join 2Baba, D’Banj, Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy on the list of Nigerians who have won at the MOBO Awards.

Meanwhile, British-Nigerian rapper, Tunde won the Best New Artist award.

British rapper, Central Cee topped the winners’ chart with two awards: Best Male Act and Song of the Year for ‘Sprinter’ with British-Nigerian rapper, Dave.

Drake and 21 Savage were the joint winners of the Best International Act award while Soul II Soul was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
