Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is set to undergo a scan on Wednesday and was missing as players returned to training ahead of Friday’s clash.
The Chippa United shot-stopper was subbed off in the 80th minute for Francis Uzoho after a collision with Georges-Kevin N’Koudou in Nigeria’s 2-0 win over the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
Providing an update on the injury, head coach Jose Peseiro told reporters that Nwabali will undergo a scan to determine if he will be available for Saturday’s fixture against Angola.
“He (Nwabali) is with us; we are hoping he will be available for the game against Angola.
“He will undergo another test on Wednesday. After that, we will know whether he can play or not,” he said.
Nigeria will face Angola at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium, Abidjan, on Friday, February 2, 2024 (6 p.m. Nigerian time).
