Lagos police parade 6 fake soldiers, 31 others for alleged robbery, cultism

Six fake soldiers were yesterday, paraded at the Lagos State police command for alleged impersonation and armed robbery.

The suspects were paraded alongside 31 other suspects for engaging in varying crimes including armed robbery, stealing, cultism and unlawful possession of firearms in the last month.

Speaking during the parade, Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade said: “The suspects were arrested for impersonation, armed robbery and cultism. On January 12, 2024 at about 3 pm, Headquarters, 9 Brigade of Nigerian Army arrested and handed over six suspected armed robbers/cultists named Fatai Ajayi, 25; Samuel Issac, 26; Solomon Kamaldeen, 28; Kenneth Danladi, 29; Etuk Ayanime, 28 and Damilola Oyerinde, 36 with one locally fabricated Beretta pistol with one live 9mm ammunition.”

“Seven other suspects arrested for conspiracy; armed robbery and illegal possession of firearms were also paraded.”
