The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume has revealed that some persons from his home state wanted to see him go down and even wished him dead but God has kept him to impact humanity.

He said he has no heart to harbour enmity but always wished everyone, including those who wished him dead, well.

Senator Akume spoke weekend when he hosted members of the Mbatiav Community of Gboko Local Government Area, LGA, who visited him to show solidarity at his Makurdi residence.

He urged the people to imbibe the spirit of true forgiveness adding that his forgiving spirit even in the face of betrayal had been key to his success in life endeavours.

According to him, “some wished me dead but God kept me to impact humanity. That is why I forgive easily and God also forgives my inadequacies as well.”

He commended the people of Mbatiav for always being supportive of his political journey and urged them to sustain the goodwill because it wouod not be in vain.

Senator Akume also urged them to “continue to pray for President Bola Tinubu in his determination to eradicate poverty in the country and make life better for all Nigerians because that is his number one priority.”

Earlier, leader fo the delegation and Speaker of the Benue State House of  Assembly, Mr. Aondona Dajoh, prayed God to grant Senator Akume good health to discharge his duties as SGF creditably.

The traditional ruler of the community, Mue Ter Gbemacha, Chief Ijiir Tarzoho, commended President Tinubu for appointing Senator Akume as the SGF, describing him as a competent, dependable and reliable hand.

Chief Tarzoho also appreciated Senator Akume for his good works, particularly for facilitating the appointment of his subjects into various positions.

The royal father appealed to him to facilitate the establishment of a cement factory in Mbatiav stressing that his domain is endowed with abundant raw materials for cement production.

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Gboko LGA, Basil Yina commended the sterling leadership qualities of Senator Akume which he said had fostered unity among political parties in Gboko.
