The Bible Society of Nigeria, BSN has announced the 4th edition of the Bible Quiz for the Deaf.
The Bible quiz scheduled to hold at the Christian Mission for the Deaf, Shomolu, on November 9, 2023 in Lagos would be conducted in the Nigerian Sign Language.
A statement from the society signed by Manager Media & PR Benjamin Mordi, said that the society is organising the quiz in fulfillment of its mission to make the Holy Bible available to Nigerians in their preferred languages and formats and help them engage with the word of God through life-transforming programmes.
Mordi said that the contestants– from 11 schools for the deaf– are expected to answer questions from the Chronological Bible Stories translated for the deaf in the Nigerian sign language by the BSN.
He explained that the BSN has a Deaf Translation Centre in Ibadan, Oyo State, where the Bible is being translated into the Nigerian sign language for the deaf.
He said: “The BSN is a not-for-profit interdenominational Christian organisation that translates the Bible into Nigerian languages, publishes, distributes, and raises funds for the Bible work. It also organises life-transforming programmes that help people engage with the Word of God. So far, BSN has the complete Bible in 27 Nigerian languages and 222 Chronological Bible Stories in Nigerian Sign Language for the Deaf.”
