…As Lluvia Health elects a new Board

The fortunes of children and adolescents across Nigeria is set to improve as Lluvia Health Organization a not-for-profit organization that is wholly committed to enabling children and adolescents to lead healthier, happier lives by providing nutrition, play, and the arts in hospital, elected a new Board with Engender Health’s Country Representative, Dr. Kabiru Atta, named Chairman.
In a statement, the Executive Director/ Founder, of Lluvia Health Organisation, Dr. Amenze Eguavoen, said Atta was specifically selected for the position given his noteworthy contributions to the mission and vision of Lluvia Health and towards public health in Nigeria in general.
Eguavoen who stated that Atta’s appointment is anticipated to effectively grow the potentials of the company said that to achieve its goals, Lluvia Health will be launching experimental programmes, forming partnerships, and mobilising resources as part of the next phases.
In response, the Chairman of the Board said, “I am extremely proud to chair the Board of Lluvia Health Organisation. As a medical doctor and public health practitioner, I have been an ardent supporter of the organisation’s mission, particularly towards improving the nutritional status of children and providing access to play and arts in hospitals.
“The social determinants of health continue to affect health outcomes of Nigerians and the period of childhood and adolescence is crucial to the optimal development of individuals. Lluvia Health through its activities will help contribute to the achievement of the country’s strategic plan For Food and Nutrition as well as the implementation of policies on child and adolescent health.
“We also hope to be instrumental in creating a conducive policy environment for the integration of play and arts in medicine for the emotional and psychosocial well-being of children and adolescents.”
The new chairman said the inaugural Board meeting marked an important milestone in the company’s journey to create a better future for the children and adolescents of Nigeria.
“We are fully committed to making a lasting impact in their lives and building a society where they can thrive,” he assured
Others appointed on the Board include Dr Yemi Osinaike, Ms Emily Crawford, Dr Folajimi Ashiru, Mrs Osarugue Awani, and Dr Chieze Ibeneche-Nnewihe while Mrs Idor Izibili is the company secretary.
The Board also designated Ms. Emily Crawford as the Chairman of the Programmes and Grants Committee and Dr. Chieze Ibeneche-Nnewihe was appointed as Chairman of the Finance, fundraising, and communication Committee.
The Board members and crew of the organisation restated their commitment to translating the vision and mission into workable, significant projects.
During the inaugural Board meeting, key discussions centred on the organisation’s core values, strategic objectives, and projects to be launched. The Board discussed various approaches and partnerships to ensure the effective implementation of Lluvia Health Organisation’s programmes.
