Chelsea caretaker, Frank Lampard has described midfielder Enzo Fernandez as the “future” of the club.
The West Londoners would feel they hit the jackpot with the signing of Fernandez from Benfica for a club-record fee of £107 million.
Although the club may not be in the best of forms, the Argentine most times produce a good performance on the field.
His conduct on the pitch has awarded him praises from Lampard amid criticism.
“He’s a fantastic talent,” Lampard said to reporters. “For a young player to achieve what he’s achieved in this footballing year is amazing.
“It’s a difficult moment to come to the club, but it’s a challenge that will make him better. He is the future of Chelsea.”
The Blues will end their season with nothing with a high possibility of not qualifying for Europe next season sitting at 11th with 39 points
However, their season still continues when they face Brentford on Wednesday.
