The Rotary Club of Sapele Urban has provided an overhead water tank and rehabilitated the water system of Amukpe Health Care Centre in Sapele, Delta State, as part of the Rotary club projects for 2022/2023 Imagine Rotary Year.

The club also provided a delivery bed to the Health centre.

Commissioning the projects, Rotarian Elijah Obotse, the Assistant Governor of Rotary Club of Sapele Urban, who was represented by the Assistant Governor of Zone 15, Rotarian Judith Nwachukwu, described Rotary as a service organisation where individuals are given the opportunity to serve humanity without counting the cost or returning interest but providing enabling environment for the society.

AG Judith Nwachukwu further explained that the two projects cover two of Rotary’s areas of focus – Water Sanitation and Hygiene, as well as Maternal and Child Health.

She said the club aims to alleviate the hiccups mother and children go through, which has been a severe challenge facing the Health Centre, charging the people present at the commissioning to make judicious use of the provided facilities as Rotary will continue to offer them their services.

Mrs Owe Onyerhovwo, the matron in charge of Amukpe Health Center, while responding, thanked the Rotarians for their unwavering assistance and support over the years and prayed for God’s blessings as they travelled back home.

Present during the commissioning are the President Rotary club of Sapele Urban, Rtn Abraham Olajide Adebowale, Project chair Rotarian Richard Okotie, Immediate Past President Uyi Ikpomwosa, Past President Julius Eguvwebere, IPP Happy Tosan Mene, members of the club and their sister’s club.
