Celtic’s hopes of progressing to the next stage in the Champions League were dented after losing 3-1 to RB Leipzig on Wednesday night.

Goals from Christopher Nkunku and Andre Silva condemned Celtic to defeat in an entertaining contest at the Red Bull Arena, Germany.

Christopher Nkunku put Leipzig ahead in the 27th minute before Jota’s second-half equaliser hauled the Scottish champions level two minutes after the break.

Andre Silva’s second-half double-handed Celtic a bruising defeat with coming in the 64th minute.

The Portuguese striker scored his second and RB Leipzig’s third in the 77th minute when he rounded off a brilliant move to ensure the German side leapfrog Celtic in Group F.

The loss to RB Leipzig means Celtic are still searching for their first win before a re-match in Glasgow next week as they now sit bottom of their group.
