With Nigeria’s growing influence on the global art world, a newfound appreciation of the arts has spread through the nation. Tim and Carol Gallery of Arts grand opening recently in GRA sets it apart from the flood of new galleries opening on the Island.

The Founder, Olawale Fasuyi, has been a fervent art collector for over 30 years. As the son of the trailblazing artist, Pa Timothy Adebanjo Fasuyi, contributing to Nigeria’s art community comes naturally to him. Fasuyi’s carefully curated opening exhibit is largely made up of pieces from his personal collection. Of all the artworks, Ronald Ogiame’s Benin Princess stood out among others. The sculpture’s soft, geometrical features draw the viewer in to further inspect the piece.

To celebrate their grand opening, the Tim and Carol Gallery plan to give back to the community by adopting 4 schools in Lagos for an art mentorship program. Fasuyi is dedicated to encouraging artistic expression in the next generation while making his mark in Nigeria’s art sector.
