The 176- page Vanguard newspaper of May 20, 2022 made a huge statement about the excitement and anticipation of the return of its popular Personality of the Year Awards, which have become a highlight on the business events calendar in Nigeria.
Not surprising that the Eko Hotel and Suites’ event center was filled to capacity as the awardees and their supporters turned up to enjoy the accolades. Amongst them was Dr. Mrs. Seinye O.B. Briggs, the Chairman of Moni Pulo Limited, a pioneer oil and gas company in Nigeria’s downstream sector. Many were excited by her “Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2020 Award.”
“Seinye O.B. Lulu-Briggs: A profile of strength amid diversity,” the biographical introduction of this foremost industrialist, philanthropist and pastor does more than summarise her impressive business leadership accomplishments; it also recognizes the grace and poise with which she has withstood the pressure she came under as a widow as soon as her husband, High Chief Dr O.B. Lulu-Briggs, the renowned elder statesman, passed away.
This recognition of Mrs O.B. Lulu-Briggs comes on the heels of several other national awards she has received over the past six months, including the BusinessDay’s “Outstanding Woman of the Year,” Silverbird Group’s ‘Personality of the Year’ and the Independent Newspapers, “Personality of the Year.”
Dr Mrs. Lulu-Briggs award who was represented at the awards ceremony by her daughter, Mrs Solate Ovundah-Akarolo, Deputy Managing Director of Moni Pulo and colleagues from Moni Pulo, posted her appreciation on her social media handles: “I am humbled and grateful to be amongst accomplished Nigerians receiving the Vanguard Personality Awards 2021, today. Congratulations to you all. I dedicate my “Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award” to all those outstanding people who have supported my work over the years. Thank you and God bless you all.
