A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the National delegate from Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State , Rotn Peter Idion has posited that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa will  be a great asset as a running mate to the PDP presidential candidate , Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. 

The party chief made the disclosure during a breakfast meeting with newsmem at his Agbor residence on Saturday noting that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa was adequately equipped with his giant developmental strides in the road, heath, education, peace /conflict resolution, and other sectors of the economy.

Idion asserted that Governor Okowa will replicate the Delta experience in assisting Atiku as president to resolve  the complex challenges of economic recess and insecurity bedeviling the national. 

“The multi-awards winning governor of Delta has unmatched electoral value , sound policy and administrative acumen , expert in good governance and party management , a goal-getter , a highly detribalised leader with the welfare of the masses at heart and above a politician with huge grassroots appeal in southern Nigeria. 

“Dr Ifeanyi Okowa is one of PDP finest political asset . He has exceled in several national party affairs, the latest being the chairman , subcommittee on Accreditation where he  insisted that the original PDP delegate  list must be used for the just concluded national convention that produced Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. ” .

“Delta state National Delegates voted 100% for Atiku in the last presidential primary election. How else can a man be loyal to his friend and a course he believed in. Gov Okowa deserves to be Atiku’s VP without any controversy. Okowa has worked hard for the party.”
