 Ginger Farmers and Marketers Association of Nigeria ,Kaduna State Chapter has chosen a former Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce in  the State, Dr. Manzo Maigari to be the running mate of Senator Uba Sani  of the All Progressives Congress,APC, in the 2023 governorship election in Kaduna State. 

Speaking at a press conference in Kaduna on Saturday; Chairman of the Ginger farmers,Mr.Joseph Chori,said  they resolved to back Dr. Manzo to be the running mate of the APC Governorship Candidate in the State because he is a tested and trusted technocrat whose relevance is unquestionably indisputable in Kaduna State and beyond .

According  to him There, “there is no doubt that the future holds much promises and challenges  and our ability to survive will depend on engaging people with skills and bringing innovations to confront the challenges of our dear Kaduna State.”

“We all have witnessed in the last seven years how Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai has deployed strategies to tackle some of these challenges. The need to engage critical stakeholders with requisite capacity in attracting knowledge Economy remains Nigeria’s greatest challenge is an unavoidable option.”

“The membership of our group comprise farmers engaged in the production and marketing of ginger. In the last four or five years, we have seen the prospects of our product brighten and discover how Kaduna State can be placed on the world map in the production of ginger that has the capacity to generate $2 billion revenue annually.”

“One man who has been critical in this new discovery and promotion of the product is the former Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce in the first tenure of Mallam el-Rufai, Dr Manzo Daniel Maigari. His leadership of the Agric Ministry witnessed innovations that brought increased productivity and opened up the agricultural prospects of the state for both local and foreign investments.”

“In the last three or four years, Dr Manzo has been engaged in assisting our members access credit facilities, inputs and  introducing new innovations in the production of ginger. Through his company, AgroLog Nigeria Ltd, he has deployed his knowledge and skills to enable our members to see hope in enhanced productivity of ginger.”

“We recall his many achievements when he served as the Commissioner of Agriculture and later Commerce. Apart from employing hundreds of youths as Forest Rangers for the protection of our forests; he renovated BATCs in the state for optimal uses.”

“Dr Manzo’s intervention in the ginger value chain has led to no fewer than 60,000 youths and women getting access to credit facilities and agricultural inputs for increased productivity of various products, especially ginger, where hundreds of thousands of jobs were created. His company, Greysoft Technologies did not only create an  ICT Hub to train hundreds of youths on digital skills, the hub is making them globally competitive but creating a melting point for all interested in taking advantage of new innovations in advancing development.”

“Dr Manzo is not only a tested and trusted technocrat whose relevance is unquestionably indisputable; he has developed a capacity that is most relevant in this age where the need to add value to our agricultural products remains a feat that must be achieved. More importantly, Dr Manzo remains rooted to the grassroots and genuinely concerned with the welfare of the people.”

“We have a recommendation that will sustain and advance the development of strides of Kaduna State, especially in the agriculture sector. We are calling on His Excellency, Mallam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai, and the incoming Governor of Kaduna State, Distinguished Senator Uba Sani, and all APC Leaders in the state, to nominate Dr Manzo Daniel Maigari as the next Deputy Governor of Kaduna State.”

“The inclusion of Dr Manzo is a sure victory for the APC in the forthcoming governorship election. Manzo is an advocate of inclusiveness and an irrefutable champion of innovations hinged on best global practices.”
