The founding Director-General of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors forum, Earl Osaro Onaiwu has called on the Southern-Middle belt forum to sheath their swords against the newly nominated vice presidential candidate, the governor of Delta state, HE. Sen (Dr) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, adding that the name calling is unnecessary and far from the true picture of what transpired.

Mr Osaro, while addressing the press in the nation’s capital, Abuja, stated that; for any true Patriot, the quest to rescue Nigeria should supersede any form regional and (or) tribal clamor for presidency.

The former DG of PDP governors forum describes the name calling by the respected leaders of Southern-Middlebelt forum as unnecessary distractions ahead of the 2023 general elections.

“The presidential primary election that produced Alhaji Atiku as the candidate of the PDP was free, fair and credible, and no aspirant was imposed on anyone, the same also goes for the APC presidential primaries that produced Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

“it is only morally right that in the case of the PDP, a southerner should be considered to run with the candidate. The APC also toed the path of fairness to want to pick a northerner to run with Tinubu. For me, I think the issue of calling anyone a betrayal is in sharp contrast with the mission of the PDP which is, to unite Nigeria and rescue her from the destructive grip of the APC, Earl Onaiwu stated.

Earl Osaro Oniawu also admonished the revered leaders of the group to sheath their swords and rally round the duo of Atiku and Okowa as the duo possesses the ware-withal to salvage Nigeria.

“I am calling on our revered leaders to sheath their swords and rally round the duo of Atiku and Okowa. The task before us has nothing to do with primordial and regional sentiments. The task ahead of us all is a call to national duties which me must all put all hands on deck to rescue this country” Mr. Onaiwu concluded.
