•As Force rescue 13 kidnapped farmers

Bandits have again struck in Niger state and kidnapped thirteen farmers working on their farm.
The incident happened in Galiwi village, via Sarkin-pawa in Munya Local Government Area of the state.
However, Police in a swift reaction rescued the farmers after engaging the bandits in a fierce gun battle.
Niger State Police Command Spokesman, DSP Wasiu Abiodun who confirmed the story said Police tactical teams attached to Sarkin-pawa Division were immediately mobilised to the area where the bandits were engaged in a fierce gun battle and were repelled.
He said, “as a result of the fire power of the tactical team, the victims were abandoned by the hoodlums and they were immediately rescued unhurt as the bandits fled into the forest.
According to him, the victims have been taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention and later reunited with their families.
He said the state Commissioner of Police, Monday Bala Kuryas, assured people of the state that the command will not rest on its oars until crime and other criminalities are eradicated or reduced to the barest minimum in the state towards ensuring peaceful environment for economic growth and development.
