…Says Tarakiri palace a priority project

By Chancel Sunday

The lawmaker representing Patani/Bomadi Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Nicholas Mutu, has said that he would complete all programmes and projects under his influence when re-elected to the National Assembly in 2023.

Mutu made the promise during consultations with delegates of Patani and Bomadi Local Government Areas of Delta State, yesterday, stressing that he received a divine message from above to run for his last tenure.

Addressing delegates, he said: “I thank you all for your continued support so far. It’s not easy to go for first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth terms, it’s not easy.

“I was praying together with men of God to give me divine direction, I prayed God to show me His preferred governorship and presidential aspirants in 2023, but God spoke to me, go and complete and perfect your job, seven is a number of perfection.

“I don’t know what God has for me when He says go for the seventh term, which He said should be my last term. As a lawmaker, I have projects that I’ve influenced, not only in my constituency but all over the state and I’m appealing to all delegates to send me back to the House for the last time.

“I will consider the palace of Tarakiri Kingdom, a newly created kingdom in Patani council area, Delta State, as a priority when I return to the House and I will complete all uncompleted programmes and projects under my influence as directed by God.

“Concerning the trending news that I lifted the hands Hon. Basil Ganagana in an altar of God, signifying my support for him to succeed me is false and never happened. More so, I don’t have the power to hand over to him, It’s a pure lie!”

However, the chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Patani council area, Mr Asiuvwu Godbless, and his Bomadi counterpart, Prince Opuofoni, in their various responses on behalf of delegates lauded the lawmaker for his faithfulness in service delivery and assured him of their support.

In his submission, executive assistant to Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa on Party Liaison and Special Duties, Chief Godbless Omoniyei, noted that there was no community in Patani council area that has not felt Mutu’s representation.

“Mutu is an asset in Delta State and Nigeria in general, he is the answer and I urge all delegates in Patani council area to cast their votes for him because we need an experienced representative”, he said.
