Nigerian fashion designer, Princewill Obinna Iwueke, well known as Willz Obinna explains how investing in his fashion business has been a big move to him.

According to him, he had always had a passion for fashion but didn’t get to align it as a career call until a few years ago.
He had been laid off from his previous job when he decided to pursue his interest in fashion seriously.

” I began my career in media management which really helped to shape the foundation in Fashion.”

“Moreover, I couldn’t find the styles I envisioned for my clients on the rack. It wasn’t until I was able to put the styles in my head down on paper that I knew designing was my gift,” he said.

It was stumbling upon a Steve Harvey YouTube video that really got him going.

“I have been watching inspirational and motivational videos online when the Harvey video automatically began playing. He was speaking about the differences between being passionate about something and being gifted at something.

“I realized that I had a gift for fashion and that I should start paying attention to this gift. My whole life, I’ve always been gifted at putting outfits together, and friends have always asked me for advice. I thought, this is what I love. Why not make a career out of it?

“These days, I wake up at 5:30am and work harder than ever. But I enjoy the freedom of doing what I want when I want, and above all the sense of purpose I get from my work.

“When I was working an office job I felt miserable and like I had no sense of direction. Now, no matter the struggles I face, I feel grateful to be doing what I love.”

Aside from designing, Iwueke also enjoys maintaining a presence on social media.
