Abdurazaq commends Kwara PSN as Otelaja takes over

Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has lauded Nigerian pharmacists on their commitment, consistency, and support geared towards delivering quality healthcare to Nigerians.

Abdulrazaq who spoke at the inauguration ceremony of Pharm. Adejuwon Otelaja as the new PSN Kwara State Chairman noted that the role of pharmacists in society was critical as they are closest to the grassroots.

Represented by his deputy, Mr Kayode Alabi, Abdulrazaq, who was decorated as grand patron of the PSN, noted that the role of pharmacists in healthcare cannot be overemphasised.

The President of the PSN, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, represented by the Deputy President (North), Pharm. Munir Elelu, charged the new PSN leadership to strive for distinction in professional ethics, practice, and morality.

In his acceptance speech, Otelaja said pharmacists in Kwara state deserve the respect and attention of the government and private sector players.

“It’s a new dawn for the PSN in Kwara State. One of the core projects of my administration is the Rural Pharmacy development initiative which aims to address the current shortage by providing incentives and support to encourage more pharmacists to move into the rural areas.

An educational grant scheme has been instituted to support pharmacists in their quest for academic and professional development, he noted.

Earlier, the CEO, Business School Netherlands, Prof Lere Baale, delivered the keynote address at the first edition of Kwara PharmaAcademy with the theme ‘Optimising Opportunities in the Pharmaceutical Landscape in Nigeria Post-Covid”.
