Today, the TikTok community comes together to celebrate International Women’s Day with the launch of #WomenofNow – a month-long hashtag challenge to inspire and celebrate the diverse and inclusive female community on TikTok.

This incredible community is made up of women who are leading the way in various spheres including fashion, sport, education, media, arts and culture, tech and more.

The #WomenofNow campaign, which runs until the end of March, encourages TikTok users to create content that celebrates the unique qualities that make them, or a woman in their lives, remarkable.

Adding fun and creativity to the campaign, special activities have been lined up for everyone to enjoy in-app throughout the month. These include various hashtag challenges (#WomeninFashion, #WomeninComedy, #WomeninSport and #WomenofTikTok), playlists featuring sounds by iconic female musicians and an International Women’s Day quiz.

Boniswa Sidwaba, TikTok Content Operations Manager, Africa, said that International Women’s Day is an opportunity to highlight the platform’s commitment to supporting women and their creativity. TikTok does this by providing its female community with a unique and safe space to share their authentic selves with like-minded women while having fun.
