Ayade warns against flouting of curfew, Okada ban in Calabar

SENATOR Ben Ayade, the Cross River State governor has warned residents of the   state against flouting the 10:00 pm to 6:00 am  curfew currently in the state and the ban on  commercial  motorcycling in Calabar

In a press statement made available to Vanguard in Calabar and signed by Alfred Mboto, the Permanent Secretary, Special Services,  the governor warned that the full wrath of the law would be brought to bear on anyone caught flouting the orders

“The ban on commercial motorcycle operations in Calabar,  movement of tricycle, Keke, from 6.00 pm to 6.00 am in Calabar and movement from 10.00 pm to 6.00 am in Calabar,  are all still in full force”

The statement warned that In view of the continued flouting of the ban on commercial motorcycle operations and movement within the stipulated periods,  it will not compromise the security of the citizens or allow the selfish interest of any individual to prevail over the safety and well being of the people.

“Therefore, elements who are bent on sabotaging government’s effort at securing  the city are hereby advised, in their own interest, to desist from their nefarious act or bear the full brunt  of their action

“Specifically, Keke and motorcycle operators caught violating the ban will be made to forfeit their motorcycles or Keke besides being prosecuted”.

It warned also that, defaulters of the 10.00 pm to 6 am curfew will be arrested and prosecuted.

“Government is, therefore, urging commercial Keke and Motorcycle operators not willing to abide with the orders, to immediately relocate from Calabar metropolis as security agents will in the coming days clamp down on them”.
