A Nigerian entertainment entrepreneur, Augustine Emeka Ugbaja, has said that one of his goals for investing into the music business in Nigeria is to start producing artistes whose songs can win Grammy awards for Nigeria.

Ugbaja, the CEO and founder of Southnice Records, popularly known as Dr Whyte Official, said he plans to bring more Grammy Awards to Nigeria with the type of quality he is infusing into the music business in Nigeria.

While he said music is a business that can conveniently earn a talented artiste good money, he also encouraged Nigerian youths to prioritise their educational pursuits before getting busy with other endeavours.

He said, expertise is one, talent and good educational background are other factors that must not be underplayed by anyone going into music. Such factors that helped singers like Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, and other include their educational background.

“My perception of the entertainment industry is one that you do with all the seriousness it deserves. Don’t have a local mentality alone when venturing into the industry, but have a global view in terms of achievements you envisage.

“Nigeria has a lot of talented musicians with good contents, and this is what we have to work on to achieve what others are achieving in other climes, especially in the Western world.

“With what we have put in place, it is good to note that, it is only a matter of time for us at Southnice Records to start celebrating our artistes parading Grammy Awards in the nearest future,” Ugbaja said.
