COVID-19: FRSC advises Nigerians to celebrate low-key Easter

The Idiroko Unit Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has advised Nigerians to celebrate Easter on a low-key to prevent further spread of Coronavirus pandemic in the country.

The FRSC Unit Commander, Mr. Akinwunmi Olaluwoye, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ota, Ogun, on Thursday.

NAN reports that the Federal Government has declared Friday. April 10 and Monday, April 13 as public holidays as Christian faithful, the world over, prepare to observe Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

Olaluwoye said that the advice became necessary to remind Nigerians not to lose consciousness of the ravaging COVID-19 but to comply with the government’s directives on how to stay safe and live healthy during this trying moment.

“We enjoin people to stay wherever they are to avoid further spread of COVID-19 in the country,” he said.

The unit commander said that the Joint Enforcement Team headed by the Police facilitated a high level of compliance with the Presidential lockdown directive in Idiroko and its environs.
