How Davido helped my music business – Obama DMW, record label CEO

Habeeb Ademola Uthman AKA Obama DMW , is the brain behind Obama Music Worldwide; an affiliate brand to Davido Music Worldwide with a mission to uplift upcoming artists, showcase talents and spread African music all over the diaspora.

Once upon a time in his career journey, Obama became David Adeleke (Davido’s) road manager, a path that successfully launched him into music business.

In a recent interview with Vanguard News, Obama DMW recounts the evergreen moments he had working with Davido who is one of the most influential music brands in Nigeria.

“Before the center stage, David and I have been long time friends. I have had the best experience being his friend, road manager and associate in the music business. My first official role when I moved to Nigeria due to the passing away of my late partner in Vancouver was being Davido’s road manager. This was a learning phase for me in the industry. This role helped my networking strength and it indeed took all the time needed for me to start up my own record label eventually,” he recalled.

The graduate of Mechanical Engineer also described Davido’s personality in line with his experience with the OBO crooner.

“Davido’s personality is all out there, he has nothing to hide. As a leading entertainer in Nigeria, he has a very bubbly personality. He is also very accommodating. The most memorable outings that I have had with Davido and other crews were our tours, concerts and Night Lives out with the whole DMW Gang,” he added.

Now proudly raising the bar with his own record label, Obama DMW gives a hint on what 2020 holds for Obama Music Worldwide.

He spills, “Ayanfe is the first talent signed officially to OMW. There are couple of projects in line for him that will be surfacing one after the other. No rush! 2020 is a promising year for all creatives. We can only get better.”
