CATHOLIC Charismatic Renewal of Nigeria, CCRN, Lagos Archdiocese has called on Nigerians irrespective of religious beliefs to pray for the unity, peace and development of the country.
The group made the call while addressing journalists at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Lekki, Lagos ahead of its 11th conference tagged: ‘Stand your ground’ billed for November 7-11, 2019 at the Trade Fair Complex, Badagry Expressway, Lagos.
Answering questions from journalists, Chairman of CCRN, Lagos Archdiocese, Brother Uche Anyanwu said that an environment of peace, tolerance and harmonious living among the people irrespective of religious and political differences could lead to meaningful development.
In his words: “We want to use this opportunity to admonish Nigerians to stand their ground and defend Nigeria because this is our country.
“We should pray for our leaders, stand our ground spiritually, pray, seek God’s face, live in peace with one another, shun corruption and every forms of evil. We should care and show concern for the development of Nigeria and have faith that all present challenges confronting the country will soon be a thing of the past.
“We also call on Christians to shun denominational differences, tribalism but live as one community, then we will experience tremendous change in our nation,” he said.
Speaking on the conference which the group said will attract no fewer than 50,000 participants, Anyanwu said the conference will feature confession, celebration of the Holy Eucharist, worship, word ministration, exposition of the blessed sacrament among others.
